How To Choose Your Lampshade
When choosing which lampshade is best for your home, you should first think about the room and the space that it will occupy. Understanding the size and the styling of the space will make it far easier for you to choose your perfect new lamp shade. Lighting is such an integral feature of a room. Knowing the space will allow you to choose lamp shades that complement their surroundings and transform your space.
Another consideration of choosing the perfect lampshade is to understand the purpose of the light. The purpose of the light will determine how much light the shade needs to emit. If the shade is to be used for reading or tasks, it would be best to purchase a lighter, more translucent shade. However, if the lamp is for accent lighting and to be warm and cozy then a darker shade could be used.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, not all lampshades can fit on any lamp. To know whether or not a lampshade will fit, you must first examine your lamp base and understand the lampshade size it needs. You can then order the lampshade size that fits your lamp base. If you are not sure on the exact lampshade size that you need, feel free to contact us at 434-270-8585, or DM us @cvilleshadeshop for more information.
For the most ideal fit, your shade should be about twice the width of the base. Proportion is key - if it's too tall, it will appear top heavy, if it's too short, your lamp will look out of balance. Your shade should be about 2/3 of the height of the base. The shade should hide almost all of the metal neck of the lamp, and you never want the bottom of your harp to show.
